Installation of Surface Mounting Socket on a Tubular Section

Surface mounting sockets can be fitted to round or square section tube using a 22mm hole saw, file, hexagonal Allen key and tube clip (code BTCM6).

Sockets fitted with Tube Clips sit inside the tube; it is not necessary to stock different sockets for different tube diameters.

No welding required to assemble this tubular section system, avoiding the need for clean up work.

Steps 1 & 2 The tube clip is attached to the socket with a stainless steel M6x20 countersunk head screw.

Steps 3 & 4 The assembly is hooked into a pre-drilled 22.2mm hole in the tube.

Steps 5 & 6 The socket is lifted into position and the screw tightened whilst the tube clip is pulled against the tube until the tube clip is tight up against the socket and the socket is bedded down inside the tube. Care must be taken to avoid dropping the socket into the tube until the wire is clipped into place and under tension!
